Each autumn, Ichinoseki in Iwate Prefecture holds the Karaumedate Emaki at Karaumedate Sogo Park. This festival recreates a crucial event from the Sengoku period—the 1590 military council at Karumedate Castle (also known as Nagasaka Castle), where generals under Toyotomi Hideyoshi convened to plan the Siege of Odawara. This reenactment honors the strategic meeting led by Chiba Nobutaka and other prominent figures in Hideyoshi's campaign to unify Japan.

Event Highlights:
Military Procession (Gunji Sanjo Gyoretsu): A reenactment of the generals’ arrival, complete with samurai armor and period costumes.
Victory Dance (Shusse no Mai): Traditional dance celebrating the campaign’s success.
Attractions: Historical performances, exhibitions, and fun activities for all ages.
Mochi Maki: A lively rice cake throwing event.

The Karaumedate Emaki festival combines Japanese history, culture, and entertainment, frequently featuring celebrities. This year, Ikuto Kawai (河合郁人) will serve as the Sōtaishō (総大将) for the second year in a row, a significant leadership position in the festival. Additionally, Ryūta Muro (室龍太) will take on the role of Waki-taishō (脇大将), another key role in the event.
