Mt. Murone Azalea Festival

At the summit of Mt. Murone, which provides a panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean, around 200,000 mountain azalea and Renge azalea bushes create a breathtaking spectacle.

2025 Murone Azalea Festival: May 17th to June 1st

🌸Flowering Update as of May 20th🌸 The buds around the summit of Mt. Murone are beginning to show colour. Currently, the area near the 7th station is in full bloom.

♦On Sunday, May 25th, a taiko drum performance by an Iwai Taiko Doshikai group will be held near the parking area of the Mt. Murone Observatory, running from 11:30 am to 2 pm. 

♦The Mt. Murone Sky Festival will take place on Saturday, May 24th, and Sunday, May 25th, attracting paragliding enthusiasts and painting the sky of Mt. Murone. 

♦During the festival on Saturdays and Sundays, a food and drink corner will be available near the observation deck. Visitors are also invited to use the complimentary rest area at the observation deck.
