Ichinoseki continues to pride itself on promoting and preserving its prevalent mochi culture. This sticky-rice delicacy is not only a quintessential part of traditional washoku or Japanese cuisine, but its versatility allows it to evolve.
There is no better way to show-case this than at the Ichinoseki Mochi Summit. This event brings local mochi enthusiasts and those from all over Japan together to show off their special creations.
In addition to Ichinoseki and Hiraizumi, there is a large gathering of local mochi from all over the country. Vendors and menus are introduced on the Mochi Fes Facebook page.
